History
The Twelfth Fleet was assigned to the Rim Worlds Republic and Lyran Commonwealth regions of the Star League prior to the Periphery Uprising. In 2763 however, the Twelfth Fleet went to the Outworlds Alliance over the protests of the Twelfth's officer corps. Even after the redeployed, the command staff reviewed SLIC reports about the Rim Worlds Republic. While in the Republic, the Twelfth's homeport was in the Dark Nebula.[2]
When the SLDF was deployed en masse to quell the Uprising the Twelfth was deployed to the Outworlds Alliance, and was still in place there when the Amaris Civil War began; as soon as news reached the fleet of the coup, the Twelfth was pulled from its line duties in the Alliance and redeployed to support General Aleksandr Kerensky directly. The first members of the Twelfth arrived at Kerensky's headquarters just 5 days later, with the remainder of the Twelfth arriving after just 15 days. The intelligence provided by the Twelfth, both electronic and human, proved to be of great value during the campaign against the Rim Worlds Republic.[1]
The Twelfth left their moorings above New Vandenberg ahead of Kerensky's declaration of war against the Republic; while the Twelfth was officially heading for the Republic to update the astrogation data held by the SLDF, their true mission was to swiftly demonstrate the SLDF's resolve.[1]

In 2765 the Twelfth Fleet was commanded by Admiral Guo Tan from the WarShip SLS Terra Nova.[1][2]
