1st Taurian Lancers

Unit Description

The 1st Taurian Lancers is a Multi-Regiment Combined Arms formation fielded by the Taurian Concordat in 3020. They were formed by the TDF as experimental tactical doctrine in placing equal amount of Heavy Tank and other armor vehicles with BattleMechs in each of its battalions. The Lancers have intergrated DropShips for transport but no JumpShips.

History

Late Succession Wars

The Lancers notable actions was on the world of Bromhead in 3021, where they raided the Davion world. The battle turn for worse, when a company of the Lancer's 'Mech was lost to a minefield. The Tank force saved the Lancers from being routed by shoring up their battle lines while covering rest of the Lancer's retreat. The Tanks took out two Lances of BattleMechs trying to take advange of Lancer's situation.

The unit performance was considered successful, despite its out come. Prompting the creation of two further regiments. The battle also convinced high ranking Taurian officers to insisted increase number of tanks in other Taurian forces.

3060s

In early 3060s, as part of the new Trinity Alliance's officer exchange program. Sao-Shao Michael Lee was assigned to command a battalion in the Lancer's Mech regiment. Lee assigned to the unit as instructor for the regiment, to improve unit's skills. The unit under spent a considerable amount of time in classroom training, using range of training methods including computer simulators.

Due to their fanatic loyality to then Protector Grover Shraplen, the Lancers remained part of the Concordat military. Not joining the rebels of whom formed the Calderon Protectorate in 3066.

The Lancers were part of rotating garrison force safeguarding the Hyades Cluster from attack in 3067. Lancers were split between the Liao worlds of Aldebaran & Ningpo.

The elements of the unit saw action on Ningpo in 3068 with Hell's Black Aces. When the Arcadians raided the planet as supportive action for the Duke George Hasek's Operation Sovereign Justice. With extensive assistance of the elite Aerospace regiment, the 1st Lancers help to inflict significate damage against the Davion mercenaries. The Lancers were noted for ferocious attack on the Arcadians in the defense of the Earthwerks armor-sheet factory. The damage the Lancers had inflicted in less than 24 hours fighting, forcing the mercenaries off Ningpo. The Arcadians at only 40 percent of its fighting strength by the time they left the planet.

Officers

In 3025 the unit was under the command of Colonel Victoria Norman. In 3050 Colonel Sergio McDaniels lead the Lancers and remained their commander in 3059.

As of 3064, the Commanding Officer was Colonel Elise Powell
