The 255th Royal Mechanized Infantry Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History
In 2764, the unit was stationed on Kaiyuh,[1] assigned as a part of the LXII Corps, Fourth Army to District 3 of the Federated Suns Military Region.[2]
By 2765, the division was moved to the Taurian Concordat to take part in the Periphery Uprising.[3] The 255th survived the war and the Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[2]

Tactics
The mechanized infantry divisions of the Star League were used offensively to exploit gaps in the enemy front created by the BattleMech divisions. They also bore the brunt of defensive actions.
Composition History
The division comprised two brigades of Mechanized Infantry and a single BattleMech brigade. Also attached was a Ground Aero Wing.[6]
