History
The Second Andurien Guard was a military unit which served Duchy of Andurien during the post-Jihad era and Dark Age eras. The unit was assigned to defend the region's trade center on Mosiro.
After the terrible event of Kwamashu Incident in February of 3137, Andurien had gone to war with the Oriente Protectorate. The unit began to reinforce its position on the planet, taking position in the planet's commercial center located in city of Al-Hassam. They trained with the Mosiro Planetary Militia. The unit made efforts to plan their fight to keep potential invaders from hitting the capital city of Al-Ilb.
In June, word was put out from smaller sister unit located on El Giza that an Oriente invasion force had arrived on-planet. The commander of the 2nd ordered them to buy time with their lives to allow the Mosiro militia to reinforce their positions.
The Covenant Worlds 1st Expeditionary Force landed in early July, where they fought fierce battles to save the planet from the invaders, often fighting building to building in the commercial district of city of Al-Hassam. In the end, the invaders destroyed the Second Andurien Guards.
Between 3138 and 3145 the aerospace detachment of the Second Andurien Guards captured six enemy vessels.[1]

In 3145 the commanding officer is Colonel Darius Maldonado.[2]
Tactics
The Second uses combined arms, specializing in Aerospace fighter support. The Second had the largest Aerospace fighter group in the entire Guards brigade, and their pilots were skilled in providing close air support. The ground forces were also used to advancing under the cover provided by bombing runs.[3]
