History
During the Trials to prepare for Operation REVIVAL, the Thirty-eighth Assault Cluster won against Clan Fire Mandrill but lost to Clan Smoke Jaguar and Clan Steel Viper.[1]
During Khan Koga's reforms of the Coyote touman, positions in the Thirty-eighth Assault Cluster were opened up to warriors who had recently graduated from their sibkos. This new blood allowed the Thirty-eighth to rebuild quickly.[2] They were stationed on Bablyon in 3061.[3]
In 3067 the 38th Assault is stationed on Babylon.[4]
Officers
In 3048 the units commanding officer was Star Colonel Maisie Nash, but during the Operation REVIVAL trials it was led by saKhan Pazi Tchernovkov. [5]
From 3061 to 3067 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Creighton Heller, a former Chief Pack Master.[2][4] Prior to Star Colonel Heller's command, the Thirty-Eighth was led by Star Colonel Sancia Kufahl, who was promoted to act as Alpha Galaxy's commander by Khan Koga.[2]
Tactics
They were known for their hard-hitting frontal assaults on enemy forces.[5]
Composition History
In the Trials for Operation REVIVAL, the Thirty-eight Assault Cluster didn't field any light 'Mechs and only fielded OmniMechs.[5]
