History

Formation

4th Succession War

Acting on information provided by Fadre Singh, the Third Proserpina Hussars and 5th Galedon Regulars pursued the families of Wolf's Dragoons as they evacuated Draconis Combine space. However, the Hussars and Regulars who were assigned to the duty were shamed by it, and used the skill and valor of a battalion of Dragoon cadets as an excuse to let the families escape to Cassius.[1]

On September 17 3028 the 12th Galedon Regulars Regiment landed on Wapakoneta alongside the Third Proserpina Hussars. After a nine month war against two deeply entrenched regiments of Wolf's Dragoons the Combine troops where finally gained control of the planet.[2] The Third Hussars faced the Fourth Provisional Company of Wolf's Dragoons.[3]

Ronin Wars

War of 3039

The Third Proserpina Hussars faced the 1st Crucis Lancers on Capra, and were soundly defeated. The action against the Federated unit cost the Hussars three JumpShips.[4]

Clan Invasion

During the Clan Invasion, the the Third faced the Smoke Jaguars on Kiamba. After Hussar Aerospace assets destroyed a DropShip, the Hussars had hope of winning. This confidence only increased when the Jaguars fell into a trap in Hecate's Swamp set by the Third Hussars.[4] Unfortunately the Jaguars responded to these attacks with unmatched ferocity, and the Third lost two battalions in the fight. The unit was rebuilt, using remaining troops and equipment from the destroyed Fourth Proserpina Hussars, as well as new recruits from the University of Proserpina and Dieron District Gymnasium.[5]

Jihad

During the Jihad the Third Proserpina Hussars were transferred to Kiamba to dissuade Ghost Bear adventurism. Once it became clear the Ghost Bears wouldn't attack the Combine, the Third redeployed to Niles to protect the DropShip yards in that system. This means that they're actually closer to full-strength than many Combine regiments. Recently they've been petitioning the High Command for permission to attack the Dragon's foes.[6]

Officers

Prior to 3025 the unit was commanded by Colonel Richard Ahrmram.[7]

From 3025 to 3028, the commanding officer was Sho-sho Bruce Lee Bernstein[8][2].

As of 3050, the commanding officer was Tai-sa Richard Weston[9].

As of 3054, the commanding officer was Tai-sa Gregg Weston.[10]

As of 3059, the commanding officer was Tai-sa Angus McTeague.[5]

As of 3067, the commanding officer was Tai-sa Elliot Taharaga.[11]

- Chu-sa Kent Shou, who commands the 2nd Battalion, is the only senior officer to survive the destruction of the 4th Hussars.[5]

Tactics

The Third has long excelled at hit-and-run tactics. Following their near destruction on Kiamba, they have begun greater training in the traditional "stand-and-deliver" tactics of the DCMS.[5]
