History

The Cavaliers were primarily tasked with the protection of Clan Ice Hellion merchant caste vessels.[1] The Forty-third was stationed on Babylon in 3059, abut had moved to Barcella by 3067.[2][3]

During 3068 and 3071 the Custer was rotated across all of the Clan's holdings in the homeworlds in an attempt to confuse the other Clans as to its true strength and cover the troop movements to the Inner Sphere.[4]

Attrition finally caught up with the Cluster and by June 3072 they were woefully understrength,[5] and by December 3072 they had moved to Hector to join the rest of Theta Galaxy.[6]

The surviving warriors of the Cluster were absorbed in to Clan Goliath Scorpion in 3074.[7]

Officers

As of 3059 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Balfour. Balfour however was frustrated at being assigned such an unworthy position and took his anger out on those under his command. As a result the Binary lacked an executive officer, as the last four met their deaths at the hand of Balfour during Trials of Refusal and there had been no further applications for the post.[1]

As of 3067 the Cavaliers' commanding officer was Star Colonel Nolan.[2]

Tactics

While proficient in zero and low-gravity fighting, the cluster rarely fights together, resulting in poor unit cohesion.[1]
