History[edit]

The Fifty-third BattleMech Cluster is a unique formation. Consisting of new sibko graduates and freeborns who have recently passed their Trial of Position, the Fifty-third serves as a training unit. Older more experienced warriors act as officers and instructors, passing on the lessons they've learned in combat to the new troops.[1]

In 3050 the Fifty-third was stationed on Hoard, when the 45th Striker Irregulars of Clan Ice Hellion landed as part of the Hellion's Fury campaign. Despite their early successes, the warriors of the Fifty-third were able to drive the Hellions off of Hoard.[2]

In 3059 the Fifty-third was stationed on Niles.[3]

In 3067 the 53rd is stationed on Tiber.[4]

In 3083, Khan Vlad Ward led the Clan Wolf Golden Keshik on a raid on Rodigo, in Clan Hell's Horses territory, declaring a Trial of Possession for the 53rd BattleMech Cluster. During the fighting Khan Ward was killed in his Timber Wolf by an enemy Hellstar. The enraged Wolves pushed for a full war against the Horses but were reined in by new Khan Ivan Kerensky.[5]
