History
The Fifth Liao Guards were established by the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces during the First Succession War.[1]
Succession Wars Era
During the opening of the Second Succession War, the Fifth Guards were assigned to Operation CELT, which was designed by Chancellor Ilsa Liao as part of her push toward the lost worlds of the Chesterton Commonality. Launched in 2829, it's first actions was taking House Davion world of Smolensk, which did not meet much resistance from defenders. However, the Guards along with other units assigned to CELT were recalled back to the Confederation.[2]
Ultimately the unit did not survive the fighting of the war, was destroyed along with most of the regiments of the Liao Guard brigade.[3]
