Unit Description

The 5th Raven Stoop is an elite frontline BattleMech Cluster serving in the Touman of Clan Snow Raven.

History

Deployed to Bearclaw in the wake of Clan Ghost Bear's abandonment of their enclaves on that world. Clashed with Clan Hell's Horses' Eleventh Mechanized Cavalry for control of the enclave, before the Hell's Horses settled for taking the former Nova Cat enclave on the same world.[1]

Into the 3060s, the 5th along with the rest of its fellow components of the slightly diminished Beta Galaxy would remain stationed on Bearclaw. By 3067, its galaxy would become the main frontline unit of the Snow Raven's Homeworld assets. The unit would continue fight Trials of Possession on the planet against the Hell's Horses.[2]

The unit was stationed on Risin after the Jihad ended and pirates quickly learned to leave the system alone. Later the Fifth took the Tabayama, Kazarka, and Ramgarh systems from the Draconis Combine. The Fifth spent the next two decades garrisoning Ramgarh. They were later assigned to protect the Bad News, Sinope, and Zalaf systems after those systems were peacefully transferred to the Raven Alliance. The Fifth may have been involved in exploratory raids of the Chinmen Tao, Mizunami, and Ban Na Sam systems in the mid-3140's.[3]

Officers

As of 3061 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Lewis Magnus.[1]

In 3145 the unit was commanded by Star Colonel Markus Cooper.[4]

Tactics

The Fifth uses its mainly Light and Medium class OmniMechs to outmaneuver enemies.[1]
