History

Formation

The Sixth Arkab Legion is a Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery unit that was formed after the destruction of the 5th Arkab Legion during the Second Succession War.[1] They had not seen much action in either the Third or Fourth Succession Wars. The unit was typically stationed on Arkab and only was called to active duty in great need.

In 3025 they were stationed on Arkab.[2]

Dominion War

The Sixth Arkab Legion sent a single battalion of troops to Meilen to support the 17th Galedon Regulars. The Legion forces were too late to save the Regulars, but did harass the Clan Ghost Bear forces until the end of the conflict.[3]

Jihad

On February 12, 3071 several asteroids struck Arkab.[4] After trying for six months, the Arkab leadership wasn't able to get any help from the Draconis Combine leadership. The Sixth Legion was already in place, helping the planet recover from the attacks. Kanrei Kiyomori Minamoto sent several demands and threats to the 6th Legion and all Arkab leaders, but the Legions refused to leave their homeworlds.

In 3079 with the Jihad winding down, the Sixth Legion stationed its units on Dabih and Albalii.[5]

Republic Era

In 3085 the Sixth was assigned to garrison Minakuchi. There they hoped to receive word of Black Dragon Society activity so they could avenge themselves and their countrymen on the traitors, but no word was forthcoming.[6]

Dark Age

As of 3145 the Sixth have entrenched themselves on Arkab. In addition they are causing some concern by ignoring all requests to move to garrisons among the newly-conquered worlds from the invasion of the Federated Suns. This is due to the CO of the Sixth believing unfounded rumors that the ISF wants their world left undefended so they can more easily infiltrate the government. The CO considers it his duty to prevent this from happening. [7]

Officers

From 3025 to 3028, the commanding officer was Brigadier General Stanislaus Rozurski[2][8]

From 3059 to 3067, Tai-sa Jusiral Bjutial commanded the Sixth, though he was past normal retirement age for the DCMS. [1][9][10][11]

In 3085 the commanding officer was Tai-sa Theodosius Mihov.[12]

As of 3145 the commanding officer is Tai-sa Omar bin Mohammed.[13]

Tactics

The Sixth Arkab Legion has long specialized in fast attacks.[14] The Sixth practices stealth, recon, and quick strikes. Their garrison on a desert planet has given them experience operating in hot environments.[1]
