Overview
The Eightieth Royal Jump Infantry was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the V Corps, Eleventh Army, to District 1 of the Lyran Commonwealth Military Region and then transferred to District 3 by 2765.[1]
The Eightieth took part in the winter fighting for Moscow in January 2777. Its jump capable 'Mechs and light armor were not affected by the frozen rivers in the area allowing them to push against the defending Thirty-third Amaris Dragoons and secure the river crossings. [2]
The Eightieth survived the war and the Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[1]
Composition
As an SLDF Jump Infantry division the Eightieth would have been formed from two brigades of Jump Troops, one brigade of 'Mech regiments and two Ground Aero Wings.[3]
