Amos Forlough

Amos Forlough (b. 19 April 2531 - d. 30 August 2639), nicknamed "Baby-Killer" and "The Butcher" was a General of the Star League Defense Forces during the Reunification War, credited for subjugating the Outworlds Alliance and the Taurian Concordat.[1]

Biography

Early life

Born on Rigil Kentarus as the third of five children, Amos Forlough began his military career by winning a scholarship for the Rigil Kent Military Academy. Quickly making a name for himself as a tactially brilliant but confrontational perfectionst, he ascended through the ranks. By the time the Hegemony Armed Forces was subsumed into the Star League Defense Forces in 2572, he had achieved the rank of Major General and was put in command of II Corps that he quickly trained to elite status.[1]

Outworlds Alliance

Major General Forlough was ordered to begin Operation UNION HOLD on July 9 2581, three days after the Star League Council had approved it. II Crops moved fast and occupied the mining colonies of Groveld III and Bryceland within the same month, although the Groveld Militia would keep fighting into August. [2]

Similar success all across the frontline raised hopes that the Outworld Alliance would be defeated soon. However, the Davion-sponsored Pitcairn Legion arrived in Alliance space and on 3 October attacked Forlough's armies on Sevon, the last stopgap between the SLDF and the Alliance's capital planet of Alpheratz.[2] While Pitcain would eventually be forced to retreat when reinforcements arrived after three months, the quick offensive had been stalled. It fully grund to a halt when the SLDF High Command ordered a full third of the JumpShips and WarShips to the floundering Taurian front, leaving Forlough unable to press the invasion of Alpheratz. In wake of this decision, Forlough decided to strike at the people of the Outworld Alliance instead of its military.[3]

Taurian Concordat

In summer 2584, after Amalthia Kincaid, the previous commander of the SLDF forces in the Taurian theatre, had been assassinated, General Forlough was appointed and given a free hand to fight the Taurian campaign as he saw fit.[4]

Retirement and Death

After the Reunification War ended, anti-war groups within the Terran Hegemony as well as the Outworld Alliance outright demanded his trial as war criminal, but were refused.[5]
