Early History

By 2305, Anaheim was considered to be a client state of the Capellan Hegemony, but in a sign of events to come the Capellan interests on Anaheim were already being contested diplomatically by various mercantile interests backed by the Davion family, highlighting the biggest internal problem suffered by the Capellan Hegemony - just how far-flung the borders of the Hegemony were, outside of the Hegemony core systems.[4]

Reunification War

During the Reunification War Anaheim was the first stop for the SLDF's IV Corps. The SLDF unit landed in October 2578. The SLDF quickly took the system from the Taurians, but after the SDLF Naval unit left the 12th Division found itself stuck in a guerrilla campaign. A Taurian squadron arrived shortly after and captured or destroyed most of the 12th Division's naval assets. It took the rest of IV Corps six weeks to re-establish communications.[32]

Once IV Corps had moved on to attack Lothair, the Taurians slipped several DropShips packed with more than a thousand TDF regulars trained in guerrilla warfare onto Anaheim. These troops rebuilt the now-destroyed resistance movement and began causing trouble for the SLDF. These actions forced the IV Corps commanders to divert troops away from other combat fronts to re-pacify Anaheim.[33] Like all resistance movements, however, this one withered for lack of support. By 2582 the SLDF was using Anaheim as a regional base.[34]
