The Arano Restoration was the resistance movement led by High Lady Kamea Arano against the Aurigan Directorate of House Espinosa in the Restoration War.

History[edit]

In 3022, High Lord Tamati Arano II and his wife Serena died in a JumpShip accident. Santiago Espinosa appealed to his heir, as he had her father, to bring all systems under the direct rule of the Aurigan throne, which she rejected out of hand. In a bloody coup, Espinosa deposed Kamea and, believing her dead, created the Aurigan Directorate.[1]

Lady Kamea found a covert ally in the Magistracy of Canopus, who provided funding and support through Lady Ana Maria Centrella. The Canopians helped her to hire a mercenary company that had aided the Aranos in the past, and with that to build around, Kamea Arano created the Arano Restoration, reconquering her realm world by world.[2] Other, lesser powers and houses in the region, fearing annexation by the Directorate, also donated to the Restoration, including family BattleMechs.[3]

After the Taurian Concordat withdrew their support of the Directorate, Kamea Arano's forces were able to end the war with the conquest of the Coromodir system, though a rogue Taurian DropShip, the Iberia, did attempt to intervene and was brought down.[2]

After the war's end, the Restoration, through Lady Arano with the aid of Lord Alexander Madeira, retained dictatorial control of the Coalition, though they have stated their intent to restore the Founding Council.[4]

The Arano Restoration was a faction of the Aurigan Coalition led by Kamea Arano after an assassination attempt on her life. The Restoration's goal was to free planets under the brutal control of the Aurigan Directorate. With the help of mercenary forces and liberated House units of the Aurigan Coalition, their influence would spread throughout the reach. The Restoration emerged victorious after their final battle on Coromodir, ending with the defeat of the Aurigan Directorate and Kamea taking her rightful place on the throne.[5]

History[edit]

In 3022 Lady Arano Kamea survived a coup which deposed her family from power; hiding for three years to avoid detection, she built support in the Magistrate of Canopus for her return. In the first openly waged battle Lady Arano heard about Raju's brutal death, and she vowed to work together with House Lords and common citizens alike to overthrow the tyrannical Aurigan Directorate. During this time she would go to various planets to help them break the hold of the Directorate. Lady Kamea (with the help of the mercenary forces) recovered the Argo and used it as a way to help bolster the defense of the Restoration. The Restoration, with the assistance of the mercenary forces, helped Lady Kamea with liberating planets, one by one, until the battle reached Coromodir, ending in the defeat of the Directorate.[6]
