Personal Appearance[edit]
Sterling had blond hair and blue eyes, and was considered to be beautiful.[1]
History[edit]
Alae Battle Lance[edit]
Gifted in the martial arts, Sterling well deserved her posting in the Alae Battle Lance within the Hastati Sentinels under the command of Garlina Lyubkina, despite complaints her looks had aided her advancement. Ignoring the innuendo, Sterling maintained a stoic, aloof and fatalistic professionalism, with a legendary calm in battle. When asked about this trait, Sterling would only shrug, and say she accepted the inevitability of death.[1][3]
Battle of Menkar[edit]
Sterling fought with her Alae Battle Lance on Menkar, against a Capellan Confederation inspired uprising against the local Republican authorities, which was assisted by McCarron's Armored Cavalry. Near Outpost Station #3 on the Al Minkar Archipelago, Sterling attacked a unit from the Big Mac, who she found while searching for insurgents. Following the destruction of a Lance of Big Mac Combat vehicles and infantry by Sterling, she was sought out by Dmitry Voskavich, who commenced a duel.
Ultimately, the Republic was victorious in this conflict, and managed to push the Big Mac off Menkar.[2]
BattleMech[edit]
Sterling was known to have piloted a Griffin BattleMech, serial number LC8290-01D, nicknamed "Spitfire". Built in the Lyran Commonwealth, Sterling preferred aggressively charging her enemies in this 'Mech.[1]
