Banori
System Information
X:Y Coordinates494.25:124.12[e]

The Banori system is home to at least one habitable planet and as at 3145 was located in the Raven Alliance.[1][2]

System Description

The Banori system is located near the Dralkig and Mitchella systems.[3][4]

System History

The Banori system was colonised at some point during the Age of War or earlier, and by the end of the Age of War had been incorporated into the Outworlds Alliance.[3]

Political Affiliation

Planetary History

Banori was a core world within the Outworlds Alliance when Operation UNION HOLD began in 2581. With the intention of forcibly incorporating the Outworlds Alliance into the Star League following the mass rejection of the Pollux Proclamation in 2575 by the major Periphery states, the invasion of the Outworlds Alliance saw two corps of Star League Defense Force troops and a mixed brigade of DCMS forces begin systematically occupying Alliance worlds. Banori escaped the attentions of the Outworlds Alliance Task Force until 2583.[6]

Banori was targetted in August 2853[6] by the Thirty-eighth Royal Brigade and Thirty-ninth Royal Brigade of the Thirteenth Royal Division, V Corps; having just spent one or two weeks putting the cities, towns and industry of Morthac to the torch, the two brigades paused for a brief rest and refit before proceeding to repeat the same brutal behaviour on Banori. Destroying any militia forces was a secondary objective for the V Corps forces, who targetted Banori as part of a wider seek-and-destroy campaign against the Alliance. By the end of 2853, hundreds of cities and towns across the Outworlds Alliance would have been destroyed, and such was the level of destruction caused and the number of civilian casualties inflicted that by June 2853 both the commander of the Star League task force, General Amos Forlough, and his troops were being called "The Baby Killers" by the press in both the Outworlds Alliance and the Federated Suns.[6]
