- Admin (or Administrator)
- In BattleTechWiki, an editor (always registered) with higher editing and site authority. In a disagreement between two Editors, an Admin's decision stands (unless challenged by another Admin).

- In BattleTechWiki, a form of editor (registered or not) who has created an article or other type of page from scratch.

- In BattleTechWiki, someone (registered or not) who has edited or created at least one page, with the intention of making the site better.

- Reader
- a member of the community who comes to the site to retrieve information only (registered or not).

- Sockpuppet
- a second account created by a user who already has an account, this second account being set up by that user so as to seem to be for a different user
