Blackstone
System Information
X:Y Coordinates-123.88 : 473.52[e]

The Blackstone system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Periphery region known as The Barrens.[1][2]

System Description

The Blackstone system was located near the Oberon VI and Zertarum systems.[3][4]

System History

Blackstone was either settled during the Star League era by the Rim Worlds Republic or was an already-settled system that became significant enough during this era for Inner Sphere nations to record it's location on maps.[5][6][3][4]

Political Affiliation

Planetary History

Blackstone was a part of the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[14] By 3025 it was a part of the Oberon Confederation and was subsequently annexed by Clan Wolf during Operation REVIVAL.[16][17][25]

Clan Invasion

Following the declaration by ilKhan Leo Showers that the Periphery worlds were open territory for attacks during the opening stages of Operation REVIVAL, Khan Ian Hawker of Clan Diamond Shark immediately submitted a bid to conquer Blackstone using the Diamond Keshik, the only Diamond Shark unit involved in REVIVAL at that point. Hawker's request was rebuffed by Showers, who subsequently limited the attacks to only the four primary invading Clans, although Showers did condescendingly offer a spot to Hawker in a Clan Smoke Jaguar raid during the first wave of REVIVAL - an offer Hawker rejected. The exchange of insults between Hawker and Showers went a long way towards reviving the traditional loathing between the Diamond Sharks and Smoke Jaguars and would subsequently prompt a number of damaging battles between the two Clans.[35] On August 3049 Clan Wolf's Silver Keshik and Beta Galaxy attacked the planet Blackstone. The defending Blackstone Guards company in their aging machines were destroyed by the superior Clan troops.[36]

Jihad

The Clan Wolf troops withdrew from Blackstone after the Jihad, but several Clan merchants arranged for technical support to be sent to Blackstone. These technicians helped to rebuild several fortresses on the world, creating a modern Castle Brian.[37]
