History

One of many WarShips to be disabled and abandoned or lost during the Star League era or the early Succession Wars, the Vincent Mk. 39-class corvette later known as the Blade of Divinity was one of a number of ships recovered by the Word of Blake[1] and restored to working order in secret.[2]

The WoBS Blade of Divinity was one of four Vincent-class corvettes to serve in the Blakist fleet at the height of its power, serving alongside her sister ships WoBS Blade of Holiness, WoBS Blade of Righteousness and WoBS Blake's Redemption,[1] although prior to the Jihad only the Blake's Redemption was publicly known to be a part of the Blakist black water navy.[2]

In 3068 Blakist WarShips including the Blade of Divinity bombarded the Forbidden City on Sian, the capital world of the Capellan Confederation.[3] The bombardment killed Duchess Candace Liao, the former ruler of St. Ives and captive of the Capellan government, and was believed to have killed Chancellor Sun-Tzu Liao. The bombardment was blamed on Federated Suns forces loyal to Duke George Hasek of the Capellan March, who was engaged in a war against the Confederation at the time, and prompted Sang-jiang-jun Talon Zahn declaring himself Military Regent of the Confederation whilst CCAF forces rallied and began a counterstrike against Hasek's forces.[4][5]

The Blade of Divinity would fight in the Sian system again in 3074 in support of the Blakist forces active on the planet and took damage from Capellan forces in the system.[3] The next time the Blade of Divinity was seen in action was in 3079, when a fleet of five Blakist WarShips raided a number of worlds in the Duchy of Oriente between the 13th and 20th of March;[6] the Blade of Divinity was part of the Blakist raiding party that struck at the world of Dayr Khuna, operating alongside the FWLS Hippolyta, an Agamemnon-class vessel suborned from the Free Worlds League navy.[1]

As of 3081 the Blade of Divinity was one of five Blakist WarShips to remain unaccounted for after the end of the Jihad.[7]
