Owner History

Planetary Info

Brinton is located near Umgard and vanishes from maps at some point during the 3rd Succession War. It was the site of a conflict between the Taurian Concordat and the Capellan Confederation early in its history. The Capellans detonated a biological weapon on the planet, and even in 3079 it continued to kill humans. The output of factories is loaded onto DropShips by workers in full NBC gear, and once the DropShip has entered orbit, the cargo spaces are exposed to the vacuum of space to kill any infectious material that may have accidentally been loaded.[3]

In 3025 Brinton was home to some fifty-five thousand technicians and other specialists and was a major electronics manufacturing and production center for the Taurian Concordat. The industries on Brinton made the cool, temperate world a popular target for raids and attacks and it was sacked several times during the Succession Wars. The tempo of the attacks increased as the Third Succession War drew to a close, and the Taurian Defense Force maintained a standing garrison consisting of a battalion of militia infantry and two companies of BattleMechs to guard the planet. The Concordat also maintained a contingent of several large "warships" in the system, guarding the various approaches.[17]

The Concordat maintained strict quotas on the number of foreigners allowed on Brinton at any one time, a quota that even applied to ComStar; although Brinton had a Class C HPG on Brinton, only one hundred ComStar personnel were allowed on the planet at any one time. Anyone who violated the restrictions on visiting Brinton was treated as being either a saboteur or spy. Despite these restrictions the government of Brinton traded freely with a number of commercial concerns located outside the Concordat.[17]

Between 3067 and 3071 Brinton was raided by the mercenary-turned-pirate unit Dedrickson's Devils, who then moved on to attack the nearby world of Aea, spreading the deadly Brinton Plague to that world as well; as a result, the Devils' status with the MRBC changed to kill-on-sight, due to the urgent need to prevent the Plague spreading further, and a bounty of 100,000 C-bills was placed on the head of every member of the Devils.[18]
