The Brownsville system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 2750 was located in the Terra Firma Province of the Terran Hegemony.[2]

System Description

The Brownsville system is located near the Capolla and Outreach systems.[2]

System History

The Brownsville system was settled during the late twenty-third or early twenty-fourth century.[3][4] The Capellan Confederation annexed Brownsville during the First Succession War, incorporating the system into the Tikonov Commonality,[5] and Brownsville vanished from maps during the Third Succession War,[6][7] indicating that the system had been abandoned or depopulated.

Planetary History

Star League Era

Having been annexed by Stefan Amaris during his coup, Brownsville was occupied by the Amaris Empire Armed Forces until early 2775, at which point the occupying forces received orders to devastate the world and withdraw, in an effort to both increase the defenses of more important worlds and force the Star League Defense Force to divert resources to trying to support the brutalised population. Almost a hundred divisions of the SLDF were deployed to worlds like Brownsville by Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky as a result of Amaris' scorched-world orders.[13] While half of LXIV Corps were deployed from the Eighteenth Army to relief efforts on Brownsville,[36] other SLDF forces including Admiral Marina Akkayev-Cameron's Fourth Fleet and General Reed Challen's Twenty-fourth Army Group mustered in the Brownsville system for the assault on New Home, the first planetary assault by the SLDF to be launched in 2775 and a key battle in the overall campaign to liberate Terra.[14]
