Unit Brief

The Capolla Protectorate Militia is one of the many militias raised by Word of Blake to defend the Word of Blake Protectorate. The unit was deployed in Capolla.

History

The Militia got combat training for several years from the mercenary unit Deliah's Gauntlet.

In 3075 paranoia and suspicion against the WoB combined with rumors of the presence of weapons of mass destruction led elements of the civilian population and local Protectorate Militia to treat the resident population from the One Star Faith as scapegoats, based on the advanced technology the Faithful possessed.[1]

Having struck against the Faithful, the Militia then mustered to attack Deliah's Gauntlet after they had hesitated on how the Faithful had been treated. The mercenaries managed to flee into the jungle before the Militia engaged. Supported with supplies and information from the local population, the Gauntlet managed to fight a guerrilla war against the Militia forces, avoiding major confrontations and engagements, until the Militia massed to strike against them.[1] They were being shattered by the Capolla Protectorate Militia when Gannon's Cannons arrived in system and in a turn of events helped them to escapee in their drophsips[2], but their escape cost them a lance of 'Mechs and one of their MechWarriors. The Gauntlet then managed to escape off world, although they were unable to rescue the surviving One Star Faithful left on Capolla, who were prosecuted even more after that.[1]

When Operation SCOUR came to the world, the militia split nearly evenly down pro-Blakist and anti-Blakist lines. The resulting combat heavily damaged the cities and destroyed the command.[3]
