Delete

I am putting a delete tag on this because it fall into the "who deploys things" territory that is better served by the MUL than we can ever hope to cover. Also... Although there is a Royal variant of these units this category implies that the chassis was exclusive simply by way of how categories work on Sarna.--Dmon (talk) 17:33, 30 June 2022 (EDT)

I'd argue against deletion. It's nice to have all the Royal upgrades compiled, especially as they don't all share the same naming scheme. Besides, they are connected by a very specific thread, and are original designs all built for the same overall purpose by a single faction. Basically, at least to me, it reads less as a matter of "who deploys things" and more as a "group of BattleMechs in the same series" category. Pokefan548 (talk) 14:11, 5 July 2022 (EDT)

I would also argue not to delete, it is well know that the Royal Battlemech Divisions had different variants then the regulars SLDF Units, nice to have the list to reference to especially for Clan Wolverine Fans and 331st RBD Units that are out there. Gladius (talk) 15:11, 7 November 2022 (EDT)

I second the assertion that this is a list indicating which 'mechs have a royal variant, since they're not simply all "XXb". For example, I got here by trying to figure out what Light 'mechs have a royal variant, and if any of those are in MWO. This page very quickly and cleanly answered my query without a lot of extraneous hunting of the MUL. User:C337Skymaster 02JAN2023

That said, the 60 ton Rifleman shouldn't be in this list. The only reference to SLDF Royal variants is referencing the 80 ton Rifleman II. All other search results of "royal" on the Rifleman page reference Kallon Royal Star armor.

I would argue against deletion. This list highlights what units were part of RBDs and not just standard SLDF units. It does serve a purpose as this is one of the greatest hubs for BT knowledge. When I have new players to a campaign and they want to know more about BT and the lore, I send them here to look up Royal Mechs and then we would have a campaign or a mission to find that Royal unit. This site does so much to feed the minds of new players that deleting a piece like this is almost like pretending it never happened. This list and many more like it is what springboard people to be able to dive into all things Battletech with reckless abandon Template:CaptChaos
