The Chahar system is home to at least one habitable world, Chahar II, and as at 3145 was located in the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Chahar system is located near the Blue Hole and Clermont systems[2][3] and consists of a class G0IV primary orbited by at least two planets. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system zenith jump point.[1]

System History

The Chahar system was colonised at some point during or shortly before the Age of War, and was a member of the Lyran Commonwealth by the end of that era.[4][5]

Chahar II

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Chahar II - more commonly known simply as Chahar - is the third planet in the system and has a single moon named Yonas.[1]

Planetary History

Chahar was first colonized in the late twenty-fourth century. At that time there was no life on the world, despite a large ocean and compatible biosphere. The colonists created mining settlements and chemical production facilities, but for many years the world had to import its own food which put a strain on the neighboring worlds food production. A program by the Steiner government to import Terran plants and animals was a huge success: In 3025 Chahar produced enough food not only to feed itself but to export to other worlds.[1]

Star League

In the final years of the Star League, Chahar was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[6]

Succession Wars

Chahar worked hard to bring corporations to the planet, and by 3025 it had succeeded. Not only is it the home of Dobless Information Services, but Trellshire Heavy Industries built a weapons plant near its capital city.[1]
