History
Formation
Formed as the Chahar Periphery March Militia by the Federated Commonwealth.[1]
Clan Invasion
Originally the Chahar Melissia Theater Militia was a garrison unit that guarded the Trellshire Heavy Industries complexes from bandit raids. The Clan Invasion moved them up to the front lines. Supported by the Knights of St. Cameron and the 1st Ceti Hussars, the Chahar MTM won several trials against Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Steel Viper. One key aspect of the Chahar MTM is their willingness to abide by zellbrigen if their opponents do. This behavior, unexpected by the Clans, has won them a measure of respect from the Jade Falcons who have faced them.[2]
During the FedCom Civil War the Chahar MTM had to withdraw from Chahar in the face of superior Clan Jade Falcon forces.[3]
In 3085 the unit was composed of a battalion of troops transferred from the Qanatir Melissia Theater Militia, new recruits, and transfers from other units.[4]
Officers
In 3050 the unit was commanded by Leftenant General Alicia Mason.[1] Between 3054 and 3067 she was still in command, but held the rank of Colonel. Her husband and son were trapped on Tamar when Clan Wolf took the world in 3051. Since that time they've only communicated via ComStar messages. Her son, Lucas, won a Trial of Position and serves in the 271st Assault Cluster as a Star Commander.[5][2][6]
As of 3085 the commanding officer was Colonel Luc Dethier.[7]
Tactics
Though they are perfectly capable of using the dishonorable tactics the Clans have come to expect from Inner Sphere forces, the Chahar MTM will follow zellbrigen whenever possible to minimize collateral damage to their homeworld.[2]
