Charles Duncan was the commanding officer of the Fourth Crucis Lancers from 3025 to 3028.[1][2]

Battle of Tikonov[edit]
He led the assault on Tikonov in 3028. He arrived in-system aboard the Overlord-class DropShip Point Barrow, where he saw the Union-class Whitewind deviate from its course due to an attitude engine malfunction and emergency drop its BattleMechs.[3]
The incident messed up the attackers' combat landings and formation, scattering those units that have dropped while delaying others from dropping. Capellan officer Shen Ling, in his Stalker, encounters Major General Charles Duncan in his Cyclops and immediately jumps at the chance to deliver a decapitation strike against the attackers. Duncan meanwhile fights for his life, with reinforcements on the way. A heavily damaged Davion JagerMech that had dropped on the battlefield from the Whitewind eventually tips the scales in Duncan's favor.
While Liao forces are retreating, Shen Ling surrenders along with his brother Shen Hai as the Maskirovka spy has prepared a final trap for the AFFC forces. Shen Ling is offered all honors of POW status and Duncan's respect following the BattleMech fight, while Shen Hai, being an intelligence operative, is locked away to be questioned.[3]
