Chas Mohring was the commanding officer of the Fourth Lyran Regulars as of 3062.[1]

Colonel Mohring, serving with the Fourth Lyran Regulars, was stationed on Blue Hole in 3062. Mohring came to the Fourth Regulars after serving as the Fourth Deneb Light Cavalry's executive officer for several years. Mohring was an atypical officer who often took great risks and relied on hunches and educated guesses far more than most officers in similar postings would. Despite these tactics not always being the correct ones, Mohring's extraordinary successes and unconventional logic were enough to keep him and the Fourth Regulars out of trouble.[1]
During the Federated Commonwealth Civil War, Mohring and the Fourth Regulars joined the Eleventh Arcturan Guards' task force on its assignment to hunt down ex-Prince Victor Steiner-Davion when he was believed to be on the world of Thorin. Landing on 7 August 3065, Mohring's Fourth - alongside the Eleventh Arcturan, Fourth Alliance Guards, and the Carlisle and Alarion APMs - quickly became engaged with the entrenched forces of ComStar's 244th Division and the Outland Legion. While the Loyalist task force made some gains against Victor's Allies, the time wasted trying to eliminate his forces allowed the ex-Prince to recover from his personal losses. The leader of the Allied cause returned to Thorin on 24 January 3066 and left on 26 January, taking his forces with him and ceding control of Thorin to his opponents.[2] While the rest of the Eleventh Arcturan task force left in pursuit of the Prince, Mohring's Regulars were left on Thorin as a garrison and he remained there with his troops by 3067 and the end of the Civil War.[3]
