The Chateau system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 3145 was located in the Clan Hell's Horses Occupation Zone.[2][3]

Chateau is located near the Csesztreg and New Caledonia systems.[4]

System History

First contact between the Tamar Pact and the Rim Worlds Republic occurred in 2338 near the Chateau system when a trio of Republican ships scouting for potential colony sites strayed across the Tamar border, leading to Tamar Pact forces engaging the Republicans in the belief that they were a raiding party from the Draconis Combine; one of the Republican ships was destroyed, while the other two retreated.[5]

Planetary History

Third Succession War

Chateau was one of worlds raided as part of a pattern of diversionary raids launched by the DCMS in 2866 in order to divert Lyran forces from the Federation of Skye.[15]

Clan Invasion

In March 3050, the planet was invaded by Supernova Command and Trinary First of Clan Wolf's 279th Battle Cluster. Defending the planet were the Tenth Donegal Guards, commanded by Marshal Sarah Steiner, along with the First and Second Chateau Mechanized Militia. The AFFC forces gave Clan Wolf its toughest fight of the first wave, with Marshal Steiner's tactical skills preventing the Wolf warriors from easily overrunning the defenders at Coston Bluffs, Romul and the Hi-5 Corridor. Unfortunately when the militia panicked they compromised the Guards' position, forcing the Marshal to call a retreat. In the end only two 'Mech companies and less than three regiments of conventional forces escaped.[35]

Jihad

During the Jihad, Clan Hell's Horses launched an invasion of Clan Wolf holdings in the Inner Sphere, acquiring holdings for their own relocation to Spheroid space. The first wave of attacks captured four worlds; the second wave captured another four, of which Chateau was one. The first wave was launched between 21 and 28 February 3071, with the second wave falling somewhere between the end of the first wave and the 7th of April.[27]

Notes

Chateau was evidently an inhabited Tamar Pact world in 2338[5] but doesn't show up on maps of the region at the end of the Age of War,[6][7] suggesting that the planet was abandoned or depopulated during the Age of War and recolonized during the Star League era.
