The Clan Blood Spirit Touman is the military arm of Clan Blood Spirit.

Unit Structure

As set forth by Nicholas Kerensky, Clan Blood Spirit has maintained practically the same Cluster format since the doctrine's inception: Five Clusters of three BattleMech Trinaries, one Combat Vehicle Trinary and one Infantry Trinary.[1] The only differences they have made in the several centuries since that time is the replacement of conventional infantry and BattleMechs with Elementals and OmniMechs. They maintain this organization for both front-line and second-line Clusters, and will not hesitate to downgrade or disband one if it no longer adheres to that structure. They look at the other Clans with disdain for abandoning this doctrine, and for introducing new Cluster variants, as a sign they have turned their backs upon Kerensky's mandate. OmniFighters are held within the Naval Reserve and assigned to units on an as-needed basis.[2]

The fighting of the mid to late 31st Century was disastrous for the Blood Spirits. They lost five Galaxies, totally destroyed, during the Burrock Absorption of 3059.[3] Although they did attempt to rebuild and even raised a new Galaxy through a harvest trial, worse was yet to come.[4] Two Galaxies were wiped out when the Star Adders bombarded York in 3074 [5] and lost a further three Galaxies later that year fighting the Adders on Tokasha. [6] It was estimated that by 3076 they had lost over half of their warriors [7] and could field only ten Clusters. [8]

The Spirits were known to often rotate their Clusters between Galaxies in the hope of confusing an enemy to their exact strength. [9] Such a "Shell Game" was carried out in 3069 with Clusters moved one at a time from York to other holdings. [10]

The Touman stood at six Galaxies in 3060[11] and by 3067 it had grown to seven Galaxies.[12] By 3084 it was reduced to four Galaxies, and by the end of that year had been completely destroyed. During the last few desperate months of the Clan it raised several poorly armed civilian clusters, although these were quickly destroyed in combat.[13]
