Owner History

Planetary Info

Cogdell is one of the few worlds in the Inner Sphere whose governmental structure is based on anarchic ideas. Originally "settled" by a group of convicts who were exported to the world by a Periphery world, the colonists were able to survive and form a rudimentary government whose only law was "live and let live".

Absorbed by the Federated Suns shortly before the start of the Third Succession War, one of the prominent families on Cogdell was selected by the Ministry of Ways and Means as the ruling family. This family eventually grew pro-Davion, pro-Federated Suns, and pro-government. The resulting tensions between the noble family's supporter and the general population exploded into violence in 3025.[1]

In February, 3072 Cogdell was one of the planets that joined the breakaway Filtvelt Coalition.

Cogdell's surface is covered in rich farmland, flourishing forests, and potable water. As such, Cogdell exports a large amount of produce and drinkable water to much of the surrounding region. [14]
