Crellacor
System Information
X:Y Coordinates-82.87 : 469.85[e]

The Crellacor system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Periphery region known as The Barrens.[1][2]

System Description

The Crellacor system is located near the Gustrell and Paulus Prime systems.[1][2]

System History

The Crellacor system was colonised at some point during or prior to the Age of War and was a member of the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic by the end of the Age.[3][4]

Planetary History

Reunification War

Civil war erupted in the Rim Worlds Republic in 2575, with the factions polarised around those loyal to First Consul Gregory Amaris and those loyal to the Rift Republican Army and the Rim Provisional Government.[37]

The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and in 2579 assembled Task Force MAILED FIST to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic. A multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force, Task Force MAILED FIST was responsible for executing Operation MAILED FIST, the name given to the military intervention. The first wave of attacks focused on securing significant worlds near Apollo,[38] until a destructive raid on Alarion by the 4th Amaris Fusiliers in retaliation prompted the SLDF to alter its initial strategy for the campaign, the focus shifted to reducing Rim Worlds Army concentrations throughout the Republic and the capture of key worlds.[39]

In late 2584 the SLDF changed tactics again; a number of major RWA units had been destroyed or captured, and the focus for the campaign shifted to capturing worlds of strategic importance, but the campaign was slowed by the greatly increased resistance offered by the RWA and local civilian populations, prompted by atrocities performed by the Draconis Auxiliary Corps when they captured Nightwish in mid-2584.[40]

General Nathan Isaacson assigned responsibility for Crellacor to the 2nd Marik Auxiliary Corps, which assigned three regiments - the Second and Sixth Marik Militias and the First Brigade of the Fusiliers of Oriente - to conquering the system in 2595. The Star League forces successfully took control of Crellacor and remained in place as the local garrison until the end of Operation MAILED FIST in late 2596.[41]

Fall Into Darkness

With the collapse of the Rim Worlds Republic during the waning years of the Star League many Republican worlds were conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth. Crellacor was not one of these worlds; instead of being absorbed, Crellacor joined the neighboring worlds of Oberon VI and Sigurd in founding the Oberon Confederation with the intention to hold on to the ideals of the old Republic. Good intentions couldn't protect against the numerous pirate raids and the downfall of technology and as a consequence the Confederation crumbled after two decades.[13] Only few of the world's settlements survived until the Third Succession War just to see them reintegrated into the new Oberon Confederation which was now a bandit kingdom and a far cry from the former alliance.

Invasion of the Clans

Clan Wolf overran Crellacor on September 3049 with the Seventh Battle Cluster. The planetary defenders, the Third Oberon Guards and Crellacor Guards were defeated after two fierce battles with the Clan warriors.[42] The world remained a part of the Wolf Clan Occupation Zone until the early Jihad when the Wolves' Periphery holdings were annexed by Clan Hell's Horses.[29]

Republic of the Barrens

Clan Hell's Horses withdrew their administrative support to Crellacor in 3085. Crellacor's inhabitants reached out to nearby systems that found themselves also bereft of Clan support. Through 3086 the systems negotiated and eventually created a polity called the Republic of the Barrens.[43]
