Crossroads at Outreach is a story by Kevin Killiany that was published online on BattleCorps on 3 February 2005 as the second part of the Chaos Irregulars series. Plot summary
Newly formed from the remnants of the decimated Peregrine's Hussars and Sorensen's Strikers mercenary commands, the Chaos Irregulars have arrived on Outreach with its hiring halls and hope to secure a contract. To improve their default "Green" rating with the MRBC because of being a new unit, they also go through a costly evaluation procedure.
The original units from which the Irregulars formed were very different in outlook, combat style and leadership style and have some difficulties integrating into a single unit under joint command. Captains Ariel Peregrine and Jacoam "Jake" Chowla also have different ideas about how and where to find possible employers.
