History[edit]

Born as Ramesh da Silva on Sarna, he joined the Sarna Supremacy militia and was among the forces that defended Kaifeng when the Capellan Confederation, represented by Warrior House Hiritsu, invaded the planet in 3058. He was able to escape with a damaged 'Mech, barely avoiding a Locust shot on his cockpit that nearly killed him.

He resurfaced as a Gladiator on Solaris VII sometime afterwards still with his Grasshopper, a new name David Singh, and under a new allegiance: the Federated Suns.

In 3063, he was fighting an Archer in the Mud Pit. The fight was off-the-chart bad as every time he took a step, his feet sank into the ground. Worse yet, the Archer pilot just set himself and pounded him from long range. He was going down fast and there was nothing he could do. His maneuverability advantage was countered by the terrain, and to make matters worse, the promoter had salted the arena with lengths of oil piping. Jumping was very dangerous, but finally he decided to risk it and jamp, closing within the Archer's missile arc and pounded it into the ground.

On 8 February 3064, he fought one of his most renown fights in The Jungle against Shamil Idrisov in his Atlas. The fight was a tough one, but Shamil was finally able to make his thirty additional tons to win the match. That victory got him a slot in the Cathay Open Division and a chance to compete for the Grand Tournament.

After that fight he was contacted by Michael Pitgar from Freak Show Entertainment who offered him an slot in a Grand Melee Match he was preparing where twelve MechWarriors were going to fight in the Grayland Gardens Arena and with Mechs from the Light to the Assault Class. From the list of MechWarriors, he recognized two, Beatriz da Rosa and Jürgen Mauer, both top of the line independent gladiators and most probably one of them backed by Michael Pitgar to be the winner. With the money given in advance by the Freak Show Entertainment, he could repair his 'Mech and have it ready for the fight.

After accepting and while going home, he was intercepted by Xu Longshen, a Capellan Maskirovka agent tasked to make David fight for a Stable from the Capellan Confederation. David rejected the offer and was advised he might die in the Arena.

David first found and stalked Walter Bowman in his Jenner, but decided he was not an assassin and skipped him as a target. While searching for another rival, he was found by Jürgen Mauer who crushed his Grashopper's rear armor. While fighting a thirteenth MechWarrior appears, Kiichi Omata at the hands of a new Assault 'Mech: a Kodiak 2. David lured Omata to attack and destroy Jürgen Mauer, which he did using his immense firepower and jump jets.

He found Beatriz da Rosa piloting her Awesome with a damaged ankle while she was losing a match on the tennis courts against a CRD-3R Crusader painted hot pink with an indigo snake coiled around the Crusader's right leg and the legend Pink Mamba was stenciled beneath the cockpit in matching indigo script. That Crusader was slowly tearing Beatriz apart, and only the appearance of David saved her. Once David told her that there were indeed thirteenth MechWarriors, both paired together to destroy Kiichi Omata and his Kodiak 2. David, acting as bait, found Kiichi crushing Walter Bowman's Jenner, and was barely able to save him. He was able to lure him to follow his trail to where Beatriz and her 'Mech were. Teaming together, they made Omata surrender. Then Beatriz reveled that she had taken money from the Maskirovka agent Xu Longshen to kill David. She might have been able to do that, but then Walter Bowman reappeared and returned the favor to David and helped David to subdue her and her 'Mech.

She signed for surrender and then in front of the cameras explained that she had accepted money from Maskirovka to kill David. That put her in the focus of the Solaris Gaming Commission and this ended her career, but left David protected, as Maskirovka could not take action against him and escape unscathed.

Unfortunately David's victory was against Michael Pitgar's actions, that left them trapped to be together as they needed each other.

On 18 February 3064, David fought another match in the Grayland Gardens Arena. The fight was to pit a lance of 'Mechs against David Singh, who didn't know he was against four rivals.

Ichabod Timkin, from DeLon Stables, was the first to found David, and that was good for him as the team was in for a huge bonus to the MechWarrior who brought David's Grasshopper down. That meant the Lance were competitors as well as allies, which meant that coordinated tactics were not going to happen.

He and his heavily modified MAL-1R Mauler were doing well until a second 'Mech appeared. An Axman carrying a Flail instead of a Hatchet, painted the black and red of the Dispossessed Cooperative. As expected, they did not coordinate their tactics well. David was able to down the Axman and then subdued Ichabod.

After that, David went to beat a Silver Dragons Stables Hatamoto-Chi armed with a Vibroblade (the vibroblade that replaced the left-arm PPC braced by the right hand and held out in front of the body, perfectly still) and a blue Banshees Stables modified DV-7D Dervish with a pair of fluid guns.[1]

After that match, and while resting in Hanse Davion Medical Center, he is presented to Marcy Kessel, a publicist, that was helping the Freak Show Entertainment to increase its rates.

His next fight was against Laura Kidane and her King Crab in The Dam Arena on 5 April 3064. It seems sure that Laura Kidane was aware that Michael Pitgar wanted to blew the Dam, and tried to use it, getting into cover in the safest zone for her. Fortunately for David was able to jump and save himself from the trick, and then he shot her from the higher ground he ended in.

David, who had started a relationship with Marcy, discovers that Marcy has been kidnapped after the fight he goes nuts. While wondering through the Hazelwood Flats neighborhood from Black Hills he is found again by Xu Longshen, who shots him in his left knee. Xu asks Davin again to either join a Capellan stable or stop fighting and have Marcy released. He says he would stop fighting and is given an address where she can find Marcy. Alive but barely, she makes him confirm he will keep fighting and not stop.

His return match was on 17 May 3064. He faced George Adlet in a SPR-5F Spector along three other MechWarriors piloting a Talon, a Flea (piloted by Dankova), and a Scarabus. The fight was in The Harbor arena and they were fighting under the team name The Silly Little Clowns of Death. Singh was very upset, who thought he only had to fight George Adlet in his assault 'Mech, but nevertheless bested all four of them.

After this victory, Marcy is again kidnapped. He meets the kidnappers at Equatus Arms, Horsehead, and discovers that Marcy is indeed a Maskirovka agent who has been working to destroy his reputation. David realizes that they are right, and that nobody would ever hire him, and it is again offered to fight for Tandrek Stables. He rejects again, but is left to leave with his life, Maskirovka telling him he will return.

Forced to keep fighting for the Freak Show Entertainment, his next fight is scheduled in 2 June 3064 in the Grayland Gardens Arena. He discovers he is to fight infantryman wearing G12 Tornado Light Power Armor. As he was not a killer, he surrendered. In the press centers, after the match, he explains how he was blind to his manager and Maskirovka manipulation that lowered his "rating," and explains he leaves the games.

On 14 June 3064, and while drinking in The Cockpit, Nigel Daelun, principal owner of Blackstar Stables offered him a job as he felt David was a fighter with talent and integrity.

He accepts and joins the Stable. He gets a slot in the Grand Tournament, his first Grand Tournament. In his first match on 10 August 3064, he was to fight against Evelyn Czerny in her ninety-five ton ALB-3U Albatross in The Factory. The fight is not going good for him, but he is enjoying it.[1]

He lost the fight as Evelyn Czerny went to be the 3064 Solaris Games Grand Champion.[2] [3]

BattleMechs[edit]

Singh piloted a Grasshopper, which he modified after he arrived on Solaris VII. Armor was removed from the 'Mech to make room for a Claw in its left hand, and three medium lasers were also removed.[1]
