Part 1

Davis Clay has spent the last four years on Nanking. Since the planet was secured, he's been working to train new recruits for the First Federated Suns RCT. They're in the fortunate position of being able to choose the best of the best—and then it's Clay's job to whip them into shape. But his newest batch of recruits promises to be a particular challenge. Worse, though, the group contains a familiar face... one that can't help but worry Clay.

Part 2

Davis Clay has had his eye on Private Chen since he first showed up for training. Years ago he was part of a terrorist group; now Clay watches him closely, trying to find out what the young man is up to. When he breaks the rules and goes to a forbidden zone in Yang-Ku, Clay has no choice but to follow Chen into the slums. When he does, he finds out that Chen may not be exactly what he appears...

Part 3

The chaos of the Jihad permeates all levels of the military, right down to the infantry. Months after it started, Davis Clay and his superiors still aren't entirely sure what's going on. Fragments of reports, rumors and lies... But the battalion has its marching orders. All Clay and his men can do is wait, and hope that in the meantime war doesn't turn its sights on Nanking...

The Word of Blake has come to Nanking. Their goal: to capture the Kallon factory. There aren't any reinforcements coming; the defense of the planet rests in the hands of those on-planet from the First FedSuns RCT and the Nanking Militia. The options are few, the needs many.
