Description

The twenty-fifth century Dragonfire would push the limits of modern technology to rivel heavy fighters like the Marik Eagle and the Lyran Hurricane.

Weapons and Equipment

The fighter was equipped with Primitive Engine, Primitive Cockpit and Primitive Armor (a lot of it). A Medium laser in the nose for short range fighting, while Large Lasers and LRM10 in each wing, with the smallest SRM posted to the aft to deter pursuit.

Variants

Due to its short service life, no variants were known to exist.

History

It become one of the primary fighters of the Capellan Confederation with Saroyan forced to expand its factory site fourfold to keep up the demand.

The fighter was so successful than twelve attemps had been made to steel the plans from neighbors by mid 2420, though eventually House marik was able to aquire it.

The Dragonfire's prominence lasted until the first generation of modern aerospace figher built with advances in fusion and armor technologies suppurred by the BattleMech arms race. Though several attempts were made to keep the figther up to date with the new innovations, all attemps failed.

By the early twenty-sixth century, the Dragonfire had been relegated to backwater militias and by mid-century it had all but disappeared.

The Dragonfire served as the inspiration for the Transgressor's air-frame, setting again Saroyan success.
