History & Description
Eagle's Talons is elite Oriente Protectorate battalion whom is personnal unit of Captain-General. The unit conducts special operation at the direction of the Captain-General. The unit typical configuration is mixed Combined Arms formation, with least company Battlemechs, Armor vehicles, Armored & unarmored Infantry. Unit deploys typically with three Union Class Dropships move its assets.
In 3134, the Talons were based on the world of McKenna.[1] Talons were later moved to strike and seize the world of Wyatt. They assault the world in May of 3135, but fail. The unit did successful invade and conqueror former ROTS world of Park Place.
Talon's are put in command of Lady Nikol Marik in late 3136. Eagle's Talons are charged in campaign to seize and annex neighboring independant worlds near the Oriente's border. By end of May of 3137, the Talons had annexed Asellus Australis, Oceana, and Angell II. Talon's aerospace assets were later used to intercept Marik-Stewart Commonwealth reinforcements and keep them from reaching their besieged world of Marik. Talons arrive in Marik system in June, where to find the battle of the world had ended in victory for Clan Spirit Cats & Clan Sea Fox forces. Leaving Oriente to lay "claim" to Marik as Protectorate world.
In January of 3137, Force Commander Ivan Casson, Nikol Marik's executive officer is given command of the unit by Captain-General. Nikol Marik issues order by Captain-General to conduct raid on Duchy of Audurien world of Kwamashu, to destroy a Battlemech assembly factory. The unit, reconfigured itself with mostly battlemechs, and some armor infantry & armor units.
In February, the unit assaults the Kwamashu city of Breezewood. Punching through the heavier resistence than expected. The unit's heavier assets of Charlie Company are slowed down by powerful Duchy combat units, which are suspected to be regulars army units.
Able & Baker company are forced push on without Charlie company and after series of traps, manage reach assembly plant. Both companies, suffering from serious damage, Casson prepares to order his units into fight withdraw when factory explodes unexpected force. Ordering, withdraw, Casson is lost in the radioactive/toxic explosion with rest of the Talons.
