The Flying Bat Nebula is a nebula located in the Deep Periphery, far rimward of the Magistracy of Canopus, on the anti-spinward side of the Perseus-Cepherus Cloud Complex.[1]

The Flying Bat was the name given to a nebula rimward of the border of the Magistracy of Canopus.[1] Though maps indicate it as a separate region from the Perseus-Cepherus Cloud Complex, astronomically-speaking, it—along with the California Nebula and the Cepheus Cloud—comprise parts of the larger feature. The nature of gas, dust, and radiation in the region have prevented settlements in the quantity seen equidistantly located in other parts of the Deep Periphery.[2] The provided coordinates designate the nebula's center point.
