The Fort Loudon system was the location of at least one inhabited world, Fort Loudon III, and as at 3145 was located in the Skandia Province of the Rasalhague Dominion.[2][3]

System Description

The Fort Loudon system is located near the Jabuka and Karbala systems[2][3] and consists of a class G6III primary orbited by at least three planets. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system nadir jump point.[1]

System History

The Fort Loudon system was colonized in 2460 by the Lyran Commonwealth.[1] Fort Loudon subsequently disappeared from maps during the Age of War,[4] reappearing during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War,[5][6] suggesting that the system had been abandoned or depopulated and then later re-colonized.

Fort Loudon III

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Fort Loudon III - more commonly known simply as Fort Loudon - has a single moon named Prècis and was an important strategic world for the Lyran Commonwealth for much of its history.[1]

Planetary History

Early History

Fort Loudon was first settled in 2460. The planet was initially named LC/T-2395, but was renamed to honor Captain Calvin Loudon for his actions on Nox in 2465, wherein he saved his command at the cost of his life.[1] Although Fort Loudon was colonized in 2460,[1] by 2571 it had vanished from maps, suggesting that it had been abandoned or depopulated during the Age of War.[4]

Star League Era

During the Star League era the SLDF stationed the 123rd Infantry Division at Fortress Loudon, a Castle Brian that remained operational through the Succession Wars and Clan Invasion.[1]

Succession Wars

The LCAF made extensive use of Fortress Loudon and Fort Loudon's strategic position to raid the Draconis Combine and the Clan occupation zones.[1]

The Jihad

Clan Wolf attacked and conquered Fort Loudon during the second half of January 3070 as one of a series of assaults into Lyran Alliance space, shadowing the path taken by Clan Jade Falcon, who were also using the disruption caused by the Jihad to annex a number of Lyran worlds.[7]

Geography

Fort Loudon has three continents named Anderssen, Brunei, and Tunisonda. All three are located largely in the equatorial regions of the planet; Brunei has substantial deposits of rare metals within its jungle mountains, while the foothills of the Dover Mountains range on Anderssen have veins of gold and platinum. The largest continent, Tunisonda, has the most arable land of the three continents.[1]
