Overview
The Free Worlds Technical Institute is a Free Worlds League academic institution that was founded by Janos Marik in 3023 as a response to the founding of the New Avalon Institute of Science.[1]
The FWTI benefited greatly from the discovery of the Helm Memory Core by Grayson Carlyle, and was used by Janos Marik to disseminate data recovered from the core. The institute itself offers courses lasting three to five years on average in a variety of subjects that include physics, chemical engineering, and planetology, among others. Competition for admission to the FWTI is extremely fierce, with admission requiring extensive testing and interviews. While scholarships are available for those of lesser means, the admission process still favours the wealthy.[1]
