Gaul
System Information
X:Y Coordinates514.08 : -487.59[e]

The Gaul system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Calderon Protectorate.[1][2]

System Description

The Gaul system is located near the Diik and Marknick systems.[1][2]

System History

The Gaul system was either colonised by the Taurian Concordat at some point during the mid-thirty-first century or was an already-inhabited world that became significant enough during this era to merit being recorded on maps.[3][4][5][6]

Political Affiliation

Planetary History

When Baron Cham Kithrong led four worlds to form the secessionist Calderon Protectorate in late 3066, Gaul remained on the sidelines until Kithrong held a media interview in which he explained his reasons for forming the Protectorate in December of that year. The interview prompted Gaul and three neighbouring worlds to join the Protectorate.[22] In 3067 forces from the Concordat and the Protectorate were battling for control of Gaul; the Protector's Pride battalion of the Second Taurian Pride were operating from their base in the city of Alesia, supported by Lennox's Light Horse, a mercenary company. Opposing the Second were forces from the Taurian Defense Force V Corps, supported by elements of Gordon's Armored Cavalry, with Marshal Amanda Revin commanding V Corps directly in the field. In February 3067 Marshal Revin was killed in an ambush arranged by the Light Horse, which Revin had unsuccessfully attempted to turn into an ambush of her own. The planetary population was still divided between loyalties to the Concordat and the Protectorate at this point in time, although more of the population supported the Protectorate.[31]
