History
Halesowen was conquered in January 3052 by Clan Ghost Bear during the fifth wave of Operation REVIVAL. The planet was protect by only a light garrison at this time, a mixed unit known as the Halesowen Protectors. Against this light force the 140th Striker Cluster's commanders bid down to deploy minimal forces of their own, the eventual honor going to Trinary Command's Alpha and Tango Stars. As they struck at high noon, the two Clan Stars overran the entrenched infantry's position in order to engage the enemy's retreating 'Mechs. However this was part of an elaborate ambush as the infantry regiment attacked the Stars from both sides, destroying seven of the ten OmniMechs before the Clan warriors could withdraw. The rest of Trinary Command was ordered in and encircled the ambush site, trapping the Protectors, but the defenders managed to slip through the Ghost Bears' lines with a distracting artillery strike. Determined not to lose, Star Colonel Boris Jorgensson broke his bid and called in his air units, which forced the Protectors onto the wide-open Corlene Steppes where they were easily destroyed.[1]
