The Harminous system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Magistracy of Canopus.[1][2]

System Description

The Harminous system is located near the Krimari and Nobel systems.[3][4]

System History

The Harminous system was either colonized or absorbed by the Magistract of Canopus at some point during or shortly before the Age of War.[5][3][6] During the Star League era Harminous was a part of the Canopus District of the Magistracy.[7]

Planetary History

Reunification War

Harminous was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in 2577. Harminous was targeted by the SLDF in 2586 following the capture of Canopus IV in 2584. Harminous was defended by the [Second Canopian Light Horse]] and Buquoy's Bandits; the SLDF landed the VII Corps' Fifty-sixth Brigade to conquer the world, and despite the invasion being contested by the MAF troops the Bandits and the Light Horse were forced to retreat.[40][9][41]

Harminous would be occupied by the SLDF for the remainder of the war; once the Reunification War ended, a number of Magistracy worlds were annexed by the Free Worlds League, but Harminous remained a part of the Magistracy.[9][10]

Star League Era

During the final years of the Star League, Harminous was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[42]

Geography

While it is not stated directly, Harminous is likely a water-rich world; the 256th Mechanized Infantry Division stationed on Harminous as a garrison force during the late Star League Era were experts in amphibious operations and had a CAAN regiment assigned to them.[44]
