History

The Aegis-class heavy cruiser Hawk Eye was serving as the CJF Hawk Eye, one of nine Aegis-class vessels serving in the Jade Falcon touman, operating alongside the CJF Black Talon, CJF Blue Talon, CJF Frost Falcon, CJF Gold Talon, CJF Jade Talon, CJF Janice Hazen, CJF Red Talon and CJF White Talon (as of 3059).[1]

By 3056 Wolfnet had a post-battle report on file by one "Star Captain Christopher Folkner, commander of the Jade Falcon JumpShip Hawk-Eye", concerning an action in the Dark Nebula where they had pursued Snord's Irregulars to Camelot Command in 3051. Although the Hawk-Eye is spelled with a dash and described as a "JumpShip" in the header, conjecture suggests it was in fact the Aegis-class cruiser.

During the chaos caused by the Society uprising within the Clans the Hawk Eye was actively involved in the purge of the Jade Falcon Scientist caste. In June 3072 the Hawk Eye was responsible for ending the siege of the city of New Petra on Parakoila; the Society forces besieging the domed city were ordered to surrender immediately by Star Admiral Yvic Fetladral, and when they refused, Fetladral followed the orders given by Khan Marthe Pryde and destroyed the city via orbital bombardment to prevent a rumoured genetic virus engineered by the rogue scientists from escaping into the general warrior population.[2]

The Hawk Eye was subsequently one of three WarShips assigned to escort Alpha Galaxy to the world known as Etienne's Sanctuary, which had been identified as being the home base of the rogue Scientist caste leader Etienne (Balzac). Acting under the overall command of the Jade Falcon Loremaster, Kael Pershaw, the Hawk Eye joined the Texas-class battleship CJF Falcon's Nest and the Jade Falcon flagship, the Cameron-class battlecruiser CJF Turkina's Pride in the assault on Etienne's Sanctuary in November 3073.[3]

The Hawk Eye was lost during the initial approach to Etienne's Sanctuary, after being struck with some form of weaponised HPG pulse that took control of the Hawk Eye's systems and forced it to jump. As the Hawk Eye was mid-transit between the jump point and the planet this resulted in the annihilation of the Hawk Eye, although the loss didn't deter the Falcons from their objective.[3]
