Planetary History
Reunification War
By the end of the Age of War Here was a member of the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[1] Civil war erupted in the Rim Worlds Republic in 2575, with the factions polarised around those loyal to First Consul Gregory Amaris and those loyal to the Rift Republican Army and the Rim Provisional Government.[28]
The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and in 2579 assembled Task Force MAILED FIST to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic. A multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force, Task Force MAILED FIST was responsible for executing Operation MAILED FIST, the name given to the military intervention. The first wave of attacks focused on securing significant worlds near Apollo,[29] until a destructive raid on Alarion by the 4th Amaris Fusiliers in retaliation prompted the SLDF to alter its initial strategy for the campaign, the focus shifted to reducing Rim Worlds Army concentrations throughout the Republic and the capture of key worlds.[30]
In late 2584 the SLDF changed tactics again; a number of major RWA units had been destroyed or captured, and the focus for the campaign shifted to capturing worlds of strategic importance, but the campaign was slowed by the greatly increased resistance offered by the RWA and local civilian populations, prompted by atrocities performed by the Draconis Auxiliary Corps when they captured Nightwish in mid-2584.[31]
General Nathan Isaacson assigned a division from IV Corps, the Eleventh Royal Division, to the conquest of Here in late 2591 or early 2592. The Star League forces successfully took control of Here,[32] defeating the local militia forces, and remained in place as the local garrison until the Eleventh was redeployed for the invasion of Lackhove in 2593.[33]
Star League Era
Here was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773-2775 Republic-Commonwealth war.[7]
Clan Invasion of 3050
In March 3050, elements of Clan Jade Falcon's Turkina Keshik and 3rd Falcon Talon Cluster invaded Here. The planet was defended by the Federated Commonwealth's 8th Arcturan Guards RCT and the Here Militia. Despite the FedCom forces outnumbering the invading Falcons, the Clan warriors used their skills to effect in the city fighting in Cameron City and rolled over the RCT. Falling back out of the city, the FedCom survivors make a hasty last stand in the capital city of Struggle, where during the brutal fighting the 8th Arcturan's lost their commanding officer and retreated from the planet. The militia survivors used their knowledge of the planetary catacombs to begin their own guerrilla campaign against occupiers.[16]
Jihad
Here was invaded by the Clans for a second time in October 3071, when forces from Clan Ice Hellion captured the world from the Falcons.[20][21] The Ice Hellions were only able to hold Here for a few weeks, however; forces from Clan Hell's Horses assaulted Here in December, part of a series of strikes that shattered the Ice Hellion invasion into the Inner Sphere.
Notable Planetary Locations
- Cameron City - Modest city found in Cameron Valley, was site of battle between FedCom forces and invading Jade Falcons.
- Struggle - Capital City of Here.
- Planetary Catacombs - Here was noted for having catacombs that extensive enough for invasion era FedCom troops wage war against the Falcons after their initial invasion.
