Series HexPacks
Followed by HexPack: Cities and Roads

HexPack: Lakes and Rivers was published by Catalyst Game Labs in 2010 as the first in a series of HexPack supplements for the 25th Anniversary Introductory Box Set. The 25th Anniversary Introductory Box Set would have been the product to introduce new gaming mapsheets printed on thick cardboard, but as its release was delayed these mapsheets actually premiered with the first HexPack.

Contents[edit]

HexPack: Lakes and Rivers contains a double-sided thick cardboard mapsheet with the River Valley and Large Lakes #2 maps, plus a sheet of punch-out tiles with terrain features to modify the map layout. The enclosed 16-page booklet provides additional rules (expanding on those found in the introductory box set) and two scenarios with accompanying fiction set in the War of 3039 plus an extra track set in 2859 for the Starterbook: Sword and Dragon scenario pack. (Notably, the scenarios in the subsequent HexPack continue the stories of the two scenarios found here, and there is another track for the same starterbook.)

Scenarios[edit]

Hide and Seek[edit]

On 15 June 3039 two Lyran assault 'Mechs run into Kurita defenders in the jungles on the Tibura continent on Konstance.

Hard as Ice[edit]

On 2 September 3039 elements of McCarron's Armored Cavalry land on Kathil for a raid, but the defenders of the 8th Syrtis Fusiliers are ready and waiting and force the attackers back. Colonel Marcus Barton orders numerous smaller objective raids as his forces pull out including an attack against a research lab in the mountains of the Muran continent on 9 September.

Capellan Raiders[edit]

A track for the campaign system in Starterbook: Sword and Dragon, this track depicts a raid of McKinnon's Company against a Capellan Confederation firebase on St. Ives. This and other successful raids of the time intimidated Chancellor Dainmar Liao into peace negotiations and in honor of their success the unit was rechristened McKinnon's Raiders.
