Planetary History

Early History

Homestead was one of a number of client states that joined the Capellan Hegemony in the 2280s and 2290s, and presented the Hegemony with a number of problems - the most significant of which was that as a far-flung client state of the Hegemony, Homestead could only be reached via special transit arrangements between the governments of the Capellan Hegemony and the St. Ives Mercantile League.[1] By the time the Capellan Confederation came into being in 2367 Homestead had reverted to being an independent world within the Capellan Zone.[2]

Despite the campaign being waged under the name Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE by the Duke of the Capellan March, George Hasek, against the Capellan Confederation bogging down in due to counterattacks from Capellan forces, the Federated Suns troops still managed to secure control of Aldertaine, Glasgow, Hexare, Homestead, Imalda and New Westin by the 20th of August 3068.[24] the 9th Illician Rangers, a part of the mercenary Illician Lancers brigade, captured Homestead during the third wave of attacks, only for the CCAF to launch a counteroffensive soon after that saw two Capellan regiments fighting against the single regiment of mercenaries, who were reduced to just two companies in strength by the time they retreated back to the Federated Suns.[33]

- At this point in time, the 2nd Capellan Defense Force were deployed across Homestead, Holloway and Xieng Khouang. The 2nd was at 110% of full strength, with 80% of their equipment featuring upgraded technology.
