Hope Industrial Works was a plant built by the Brotherhood of Randis.

Overview[edit]

In 3079, it produced Primitive Firebees, Dervishes, and a newly designed RetroTech BattleMech, the HawkWolf.[1][2] In 3100, the Brotherhood negotiated some contracts with the Filtvelt Coalition and the Calderon Protectorate. These contracts allowed Hope Industrial Works to begin production of Succession War-era armor and weaponry. This new equipment was quickly used to update the HawkWolf.[3]

A battalion-sized pirate band from the Tortuga Dominions raided the Hope Industrial Works in 3128, doing significant damage to facility in the process; not only was production badly limited, but it prompted the leader of the Brotherhood of Randis, Grand Knight William Dirac, to call on the Brotherhood's closest allies, the Filtvelt Coalition and Calderon Protectorate. The result was Operation TRIDENT, a multinational force assembled in 3129 that spent almost a full year clearing out various pirate bases within the Dominions.[4]

With the exception of the damage inflicted in the 3128 raid, the Hope Industrial Works managed to maintain a high production rate throughout the Republic era, it was only with the heavy drop in pirate raiding in the aftermath of the 3129 campaign against the Dominion that the facility managed to actually expand. While the added production lines were producing several new BattleMech designs using all Succession War-level technology, those designs represented a significant advance on the RetroTech designs produced before, allowing the Brotherhood to substantially upgrade their forces.[5]
