Planet History

Ildlandet is a planet or system within the Principality of Regulus region of the Free Worlds League. Ildlandet is near Tellman's Mistake and Ceará and vanished from maps during the 3rd Succession War.[8][9] The colony on Ildlandet was reduced to a volcanic wasteland by a meteor strike. On the 11th of August 3017 Ildlandet was raided by the Strange Warriors, a mercenary lance in the employ of the Capellan Confederation, in the belief that the Free Worlds League had a secret research base on the planet. The Strange Warriors located and raided the base, which was located in the ruins of Mroz City, the former planetary capital; the base was defended by a small number of hidden weapon emplacements, a Shadow Hawk and a pair of Phoenix Hawks, which were destroyed by the Strange Warriors prior to the capture of the base. Whilst Kyril Anvar, the leader of the Strange Warriors, was securing copies of the research station's data, the Strange Warriors came under attack from two more 'Mechs, a Thunderbolt and a Marauder. Anvar dispatched one of his MechWarriors back to the DropShip Stellara Warrior with the data, while he engaged the enemy 'Mechs in his Orion, inflicting enough damage to allow the surviving Strange Warriors to break contact and flee for the Stellara Warrior. Unknown to Anvar and his unit, they had been betrayed by their Capellan liaison, Ashna Jordan, who had received a better offer from another faction - intimated to be ComStar - and his people aboard the Stellara Warrior had been killed. The Stellara Warrior then departed, leaving the surviving Savage Warriors to be killed by the approaching heavy 'Mechs.[17]
