Jerome Edwards was the commanding officer of Stone's Liberators as of 3111.[2]

History[edit]

Colonel Edwards commanded Stone's Liberators during the Capellan Crusades. Arriving on Styk in early 3112 to aid the beleaguered Fifth Triarii Protectors' defense of the Tao 'Mechworks facility against Paget's Dragoons, the Liberators nearly defeated the Capellan invaders before the arrival of Warrior House Tsang Xiao tipped the balance back in the Capellans favor. On the night of 3 February, the Liberators launched a daring nighttime raid that nearly destroyed the Dragoons but, before they could secure victory for the Republic, were rotated off-world without finishing the fight.[3]

Reappearing alongside the rest of Stone's Brigade on Sarna, the Liberators very nearly captured or killed Daoshen Liao, heir to the throne of the Confederation. Cornering the noble near the Tengo Aerospace facilities with only Warrior House Lu Sann for protection, a last-minute combat drop from Warrior House Imarra prevented Edwards from striking a fatal blow, although the Confederation's advance was permanently halted and House Lu Sann was stricken from the Confederation's rolls for its failure to protect Daoshen.[4]

When Daoshen returned to Sarna in April of 3113 at the head of a significant military force, Colonel Edwards and most of his command staff were killed in an airstrike outside the city of Rajput. The Liberators would be commanded by Major Damien Redburn for the rest of the conflict and, while unsuccessful in securing a Republic victory on Sarna, the unit survived long enough to return to Republic space and earned recognition for its heroism.[1]
